Kym Henderson has over twenty years of achievement to formally recognized high standards following an IT career change. His broad ranging career covers Project and Program Management, Program Management Office, Software Quality Assurance Management and Project Planning and Control across multiple industry sectors including Government, Commercial IT, Telecommunications, Defence, Manufacturing, Utilities and some Banking and Financial Services.

He was a core team member for the PMI Earned Value Management (EVM) Global Practice Standard 2nd edition project published in October 2011. Kym had primary responsibility for Chapter 5 “Develop Schedule” and Appendix D “Schedule Analysis Using EVM Data”. He is a leading Earned Schedule researcher and Subject Matter Expert. Kym has extensive experience utilising EVM and associated techniques on IT projects of various sizes and complexity in the commercial and defence industry sectors.

Kym is actively professionally. He is the Chair of the Organising Committee for the Project Governance and Controls Symposium and was also the first non US national elected to office at the Washington DC based College of Performance Management (CPM) as Vice President of Research and Standards.  He is currently the Vice President of Global Outreach and is also a founding member of the EVM Europe Association.

Patrick is the Managing Director of Mosaic Project Services Pty Ltd and the business manager of Stakeholder Management Pty Ltd.  His consultancy work encompasses:

 -  developing and presenting project management training courses;
 -  representing Australia on ISO TC258 as the national lead for the development of ISO 21503,
    Guidance on the governance project program and portfolio management, as well as contributing to other
    standards projects and committees;
 -  developing and advising on project schedules and the development of internal project control
    systems for client organisations;
 -  managing the world-wide launch of the Stakeholder Circle® methodology and software tool.

Patrick a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and the Chartered Institute of Building. He is a graded Arbitrator, a trained Mediator and an experienced Negotiator; and has been a member of the AIPM, APM (UK) and PMI for over 25 years.

Peter Colquhoun, Dept of Defence (Navy Fleet Headquarters) has a broad background spanning both the private sector and Government.  Originally an Army officer, he found his way into project management during his time leading a training and development unit that specialised in dropping equipment out of military aircraft.  He has run projects as a professional sports administrator, but the majority of his “big project” experience comes from his time as a business manager on major defence projects in both the maritime and aviation domains.  More recently he has spent time rebuilding an engineering organisation within the Defence Material Organisation, and is currently working with Navy in a range of activities that includes representing customer interests in a portfolio of maintenance and project activities that collectively spend nearly $200m each year.  He has spent time living in both the UK and the US, his leisure activities include surf life saving at North Bondi, and his other interests include tennis coaching and travel.

Raphael M Düa researcher, innovator and writer of Critical Path software, Forensic Project Controls and Governance as a project management practitioner, a long career that includes 20 years teaching at the School of Architecture, Planning and Building - University of Melbourne and 4 years a member of the Medicine, Health Sciences and Nursing Faculty - Monash University as well as three years with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine

With a proven record of accomplishment and performance on major defence projects spanning from Oberon and Collins Class submarines, Anzac frigates as well as F-111 maintenance over many years he has good team leadership qualities, complemented by excellent communication skills; committed, confident with determination to complete tasks successfully good at making tough decisions to the benefit of projects quickly and works to deliver on promises.

Has pioneered a number of project management innovations, including the Ladder Methodology and Location Based Resource Planning, has written widely on the use of CPM in construction and in Earned Value Performance Management and Resource Scheduling.



Dr Keith Joiner

   Academic Committee







Dr Keith Joiner, CSC, joined the Air Force in 1985 and became an aeronautical engineer, project manager and teacher over a 30 year career before joining the University of New South Wales in 2015 as a senior lecturer in test and evaluation. From 2010 to 2014 he was the Director-General of Test and Evaluation for the Australian Defence Force where he was awarded a Conspicuous Service Cross. Dr Joiner has an MSc in Aerospace Systems Engineering with Loughborough University in the United Kingdom, a PhD in Calculus Education and a Masters of Management. In previous roles he was a design engineer for aircraft and missiles, a project engineering manager, a chief engineer for several aircraft types, and an air base commander. In 2009 he did wartime service in Baghdad for the Multi-National Force Iraq where he was awarded a United States Meritorious Service Medal for his work developing drawdown plans. He is a Certified Practising Engineer and a Certified Practising Project Director.
